HDdennomore: with Pope Francis, for those affected by Huntington’s disease

BioRep, a bio-tech company of the Sapio Group, is deeply committed to the research on Huntington’s disease, an inherited neurodegenerative disease that has no cure. It hence decided to support and take part in the world event of the HDDennomore global coalition to end the stigma that persists around the disease. Glebb & Metzger accompanied and supported BioRep in the PR and Press Office activities during a three-day event in Rome, full of noteworthy appointments and moments. The event, attended by the likes of the NBC anchorman Charles Sabine and Italian Senator and Researcher Elena Cattaneo, began with a meeting of doctors, patients and their families at the Senate, with its President Grasso. It continued the following day at the general hospital Policlinico Agostino Gemelli for a worldwide debate among clinicians who treat Huntington’s disease patients, and it ended with Pope Francis’ Extraordinary Audience.

Objective

BioRep becomes a representative for the community of people affected by Huntington’s disease to create public awareness of a disease for which there still is little or no information at all.

Strategy

Glebb & Metzger gets the media and public opinion involved during a scientific event with a global reach, also thanks to the Extraordinary Audience with Pope Francis.

Achievement

The action achieves a very strong media acknowledgement, both nationally and internationally, thus conveying the ‘Hidden No More’ message.
